Updates on the calls for artists

The February LubicaLetter is out, where we talk about the art of papermaking and paper art. It also features stories about papermaking and paper mache, recycling and reuse.

If you received it we recommend you read it because it is full of interesting stories and tips,

If, on the other hand, you have not yet subscribed to our LubicaLetter & news now is the time to do so! You will receive your first letter on the 1st day of next month.

Here are a few important News:
As we hope you know, last month the Calls for Entries were officially opened for the Artist Residence, Indoor Art and Video Art, Fashion and Performance sections. The deadline to submit your application is 30 September 2023, by 11.59 pm, but…Don’t wait until the last minute to apply to our calls!

To those who apply by the 31st of May we offer:

  • a space (one page) on our Beyond Paper&People magazine, the publication that Lucca Biennale Cartasia will distribute free of charge during the event in 2024. As you know, disseminating stories is our mission.
  • The publication of the same content also on our blog Beyond Paper&People, which will be online from April 15th, 2023 – on the occasion of Paper Week.

Important: the publication of the article is scheduled for the 2024 event. There won’t be room for everyone in the publication and precedence will be assigned in order of registration, so hurry up! The most suitable articles will be selected by a jury, while the others deemed compliant will be published on the blog.

What are Beyond Paper&People magazine and Beyond Paper&People blog, and why Paper Week? These are new developments that are “simmering in the pot” and on which we have been working for months because the Biennial is not just an event, but it is a journey that develops and grows every day. We will elaborate more on them in the next Letter (which we remind you will be on March 1) and we are looking forward to it.

Un’altra LubicaNews di cui abbiamo parlato nella Letter di febbraio It concerns cultural promotion, which has always been at the core of Lucca Biennale Cartasia’s mission. Art is a precious commodity and must be made accessible to all. We would therefore like to offer you the opportunity of becoming long-standing patrons of Lubica’s leading artists while at the same time beautifying your office locations and enriching your customers’ experience. “Adopt an Artwork” is an investment program designed for individuals, companies and public institutions whereby one or more works of art are offered for on-site time-limited exhibitions.
