Donata Opperman is a German artist who creates her art using folded or coiled paper threads. The choice of paper as her expressive medium is so that she can highlight all of its qualities, in terms of expressiveness, resilience, fragility and transparency. The result is a white, vivid surface, which she molds into art that is reminiscent of mollusks, or empty bird nests.
Nature, space, volume, past and present are the themes, which permeate her etheric, gravity defying art works.
