Generative Circularity
Ati Project, Materie Unite
Cardboard,
assembly
Materieunite, in central Italy, is a collaboration between the Tipografia Arti Grafiche Celori of Terni, and several young designers and architects that move between Rome, Florence and Perugia. They design both temporary and permanent spaces; in construction, they employ cardboard together with other recycled and reusable materials, in an effort to produce an aesthetic that conveys character and is in harmony with the spaces it interacts with. The use of cardboard allows for a production that is delocalized, which in turn reduces emissions and costs associated with transportation. An elaborate digital process minimizes waste by optimizing the use of building material.
ATI Project is an international studio that aims to promote alternative approaches to design. It specializes in integrated design processes in architecture and engineering and is actively involved in sustainability and in reducing the environmental impact of construction. It stands out for its multidisciplinary approach, making research and innovation its strong suits from large scale and complex projects, down to the design details of the particular.
